Event Rules & Guidelines
Age Eligibility and Timing
Marathon and Half Marathon applicants must be 18 years or older on the date of the race, i.e., born on or before 7th February 2009.
10K Run applicants must be 15 years or older on the date of the race, i.e., born on or before 7th February 2012.
5K Run and 1.5K Run applicants must be 12 years or older on the date of the race, i.e., born on or before 7th December 2015.
The Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K Run are compulsory timed categories.
Individual Entries
Only one applicant can apply for the event using a single form. Do not submit more than one entry per person. Multiple applications will result in all applications being rejected.
Application Modes
Applicants must submit their entries only via the Application Modes provided in this form. No individual or group has been authorised to collect entries on behalf of the Event.
Group Entries
Group entries will be accepted for all race categories: Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K Run, 5K Run, and 1.5K Run.
Group entries of 50 or more participants will be accepted for all race categories. Please email info@guwahatiinternationalmarathon.org or call the helpline numbers for further assistance.
Age Verification
The applicant must meet the minimum age eligibility criteria for the chosen race category. Underage participants will be removed from the course by race marshals.
Application Discrepancies
If any discrepancy is found in any of the above-mentioned mandatory details, the application will not be accepted.
Age Categories and Prize Money
Upon entry confirmation, Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K Run participants will be further classified into age categories for prize money. For more information, please visit www.guwahatiinternationalmarathon.org.
Email ID
A valid email ID is mandatory for all timed race participants.
Email confirmations will be sent to participants who provide a valid email ID in the application form.
Cancellation and Refunds
Requests for cancellation and refunds will not be entertained.
Change of Race Category
Requests for a change in race category will be entertained up to 30 days prior to the event, on or before 6th January 2027. Participants must write to info@guwahatiinternationalmarathon.org with their request.
Where there is a cost difference between categories, the participant must first register and then write in to claim a refund.
T-Shirt Size
Once a T-shirt size has been selected, no exchange requests will be entertained.
Medal Eligibility
Please note that 1.5K Run participants will not be eligible for a medal.
Race Bibs
Confirmed participants will not be given their running bibs on race day.
Identity and Residence Verification
A confirmed participant’s identity and proof of residence may be verified by a verification agency appointed to validate the details provided in the application form.
Bib, Pacing and Assistance
Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K Run participants’ race-day images will be visually screened after the race. If a participant is found not wearing the running number bib allotted to them, or is being paced or assisted, the participant registered for that bib will be disqualified from the race.
Participation Rights
This application form, the right to participate in the event, and the rights and benefits available to the applicant under this entry form are at the sole discretion of the Event Organiser and cannot be transferred to any other person under any circumstances. The applicant alone shall be entitled to the rights and benefits arising from such confirmation of participation.
Age Category Minimum
Each age category requires a minimum of 15 participants to be conducted. If an age category does not receive 15 participants, it will be scrapped, and participants may shift to the nearest age category.
Unauthorised Runners
Runners who have not registered for the race will be removed from the course. Their images may be visually screened and posted on social media platforms.
Bib Scanning
Bibs will be scanned at the entrance to the holding area. Participants with duplicate bibs will not be allowed into the holding area.
Incorrect Date of Birth
Participants who enter an incorrect date of birth to compete in a different age category, as well as underage participants who enter an incorrect date of birth to qualify for the race, will be disqualified and will not be eligible for a refund.
